Unlocking the Secret to Selling: Your Offer Explained in One Sentence
The crux of a successful business lies in a clear offer—something I initially overlooked. While everyone emphasizes the importance of building a brand, creating content, and monetizing skills, the essential element that actually drives sales is often neglected: your offer. If you can't articulate what you're selling, who it's for, and the problem it solves, then you might simply have a hobby rather than a thriving business. In this episode of The Success Effect, we dive deep into the significance of crafting a compelling offer, as well as the transformation it promises to deliver. By the end, you'll clearly understand who your ideal customer is, what specific problem you're addressing, and what makes your offer irresistible. Let's get ready to turn that hobby into a business!

Speaker A:So let's talk about it.
Speaker A:There's one thing that I lacked on when I first started my business, and that was the offer.
Speaker A:If you can't explain your offer in one sentence, then you just have a hobby.
Speaker A:You don't have a business.
Speaker A:Everyone says build the brand, monetize, but nobody explains the one thing that really sells.
Speaker A:A clear offer.
Speaker A:Something so good that it almost feels stupid to ignore.
Speaker A:Here's the truth.
Speaker A:I had skills, I had content.
Speaker A:I got the following, but I didn't know who or what I was selling.
Speaker A:By the end of this episode, you'll know who you're selling to, what you're solving, and what is worth paying for.
Speaker A:So let's get into it.
Speaker A:People don't pay for what you do.
Speaker A:They pay for where you take them, the transformation, the results.
Speaker A:So the offer that you should be making is a promise of transformation in exchange for money.
Speaker A:It's real transactional.
Speaker A:Sell the result, not the activity.
Speaker A:And I'm going to tell you this, this is the key point to starting your business.
Speaker A:So I can say I'm a personal trainer.
Speaker A:This is an example.
Speaker A:I can say that.
Speaker A:But who am I really talking to?
Speaker A:Now?
Speaker A:Let's transform it.
Speaker A:I help busy professionals lose their first 20 pounds without living in the gym.
Speaker A:They'll tell me, that doesn't sound good.
Speaker A:Almost too good to pass up.
Speaker A:Here's the formula for creating your offer.
Speaker A:You want to figure out who.
Speaker A:Who are you helping?
Speaker A:You want to figure out what is the problem that you're helping and what is the result?
Speaker A:What are you going to give them and how do you do it?
Speaker A:These are the components of your offer.
Speaker A:So I'm going to give you the four parts of a strong offer.
Speaker A:Number one, you want the dream outcome.
Speaker A:So what is the result you're going to give them?
Speaker A:I'm going to help you lose 20 pounds and what do they actually want?
Speaker A:They want ease.
Speaker A:So now that you've given them the dream outcome, you want to know who you're talking to, who does this applies to?
Speaker A:This applies to anybody who's busy, who feels like they don't have enough time to go to the gym.
Speaker A:Then you want to figure out your method or your system.
Speaker A:This is where skill stacking comes in.
Speaker A:So you want to end it with the proof.
Speaker A:You want to use your story, your transformation and what makes you credible to do this.
Speaker A:The biggest mistake that most people make is you're not confused about what you don't know.
Speaker A:Or if you don't know enough, you're confused about trying to offer everything.
Speaker A:You cannot offer everything.
Speaker A:Too many people never focus on who they're actually talking to.
Speaker A:They're trying to offer it to everyone.
Speaker A:So here's the fix.
Speaker A:One person, one problem, one promise.
Speaker A:And I'm telling you guys, there's clarity in alignment and I'm going to get real vulnerable with you guys.
Speaker A:When I was rebranding, I tried to be everything I the host, the trainer, the speaker, the coach, all of it.
Speaker A:And I left people confused about what I really did.
Speaker A:You don't want anybody confused about what you really do.
Speaker A:In order to get clear about what you really do and who you offer it to, you need to understand who you are and what you align with.
Speaker A:Success isn't about doing more.
Speaker A:It's about being clear enough to the right people so they can say yes to you.
Speaker A:And I'm just going to go over this one more time.
Speaker A:This is the formula for creating your offer.
Speaker A:Pause.
Speaker A:And I want you guys to write this out.
Speaker A:Who are you talking to?
Speaker A:What is the problem you're solving?
Speaker A:What is the results they're going to get and how do you do it?
Speaker A:Clarity means nothing without consistency.
